A unique contest dedicated to the rising stars of “Gastronomie”!
Asia has been represented in each edition of the Bocuse d’Or, since this unique and prestigious contest was created more than twenty years ago. As a result of the growing international success of the Bocuse d’Or, a pre-selection event specific to the Asian continent was created in 2008: the Bocuse d’Or Asia, which brings together the very best chefs from this part of the world. The Bocuse d’Or Asia has become a reference on the Asian continent and also aims to facilitate the participation of new countries in the Bocuse d’Or finals.Ten countries competed in the first edition of the Bocuse d’Or Asia that was held in 2008. Japan finished in the first place, followed by Malaysia and Singapore. Malaysia and South Korea (arrived fourth), which were new to the contest, made their debut in the world final of the Bocuse d’Or that was held this year as part of the Sirha trade exhibition in France.
For 2010, the Bocuse d’Or Asia, presided over by Otto Weibel will bring together 11 Asian nations, whose representatives will do their utmost in order to defend the colours of their respective countries.
